2010 Schedule

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Poets will play four games at home and five on the road as head coach BJ Hammer officially released the Whittier College football team’s nine-game schedule earlier today. The season kicks off on Saturday, September 18, against Azusa Pacific.

Whittier, who finished the season 3-6 last year, will play its first three games of the season away from Memorial Stadium. The purple and gold will face the defending Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions in its first home game on October 9.

The game against the Kingsmen is the first of two-straight home games for the Poets as WC will welcome Chapman to town for a 2 pm kickoff on Saturday, October 16. The game against the Panthers is the 2010 Homecoming game.

WC’s first SCIAC game of the season will pit them against rival Occidental on October 2 in Eagle Rock.

The Poets also have road games at Claremont-M-S, Pomona-Pitzer and Puget Sound. Whittier rounds out its regular season with home games against Redlands and La Verne.
