  • Men's Basketball goes 'Down Under' for Summer Tour 2017

    This summer, the men’s basketball team from Whittier College was given the exciting privilege of traveling to Australia for their international tour. Per NCAA regulations, each basketball program is allowed to go on one foreign tour every three years, and this summer, the Poets headed down under. The hope is that the 11 extra days of practice and four games against international talent will spring-board the Poets as they officially begin their season October 15. The players eligible to participate in this tour were the 10 returning members from the 2016-2017 team roster.

    Mark Jensen, former Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball for the past twelve years was moved into the Interim Head Coaching Position following the stepping down of former Head Coach Rock Carter.
  • Rock Carter steps away as Head Men’s Basketball Coach

    Rock Carter, the longtime head coach of the Whittier College men’s basketball team, announced today that he will retire at the end of the current academic year. One of the winningest coaches in program history, Carter will step down immediately with the Poets, 22 of which he was the Head Coach.
