Sam Russell helps lead England to fourth European Lacrosse Championship
Cheered on by a crowd of more than 2,000 spectators, Team England led a triumphant 15-5 win against Ireland to be awarded their fourth European Lacrosse Championship on June 30. Among the champions was recent graduate and former Poet lacrosse player Sam Russell '12.

Sam Russell named Scholar All-American by USILA
Whittier College senior midfielder Sam Russell capped off his collegiate career being named a Scholar All-American out of 74 student athletes across three divisions announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

Bazlen and Russell named Honorable Mention All-Americans by USILA
Senior Robert Bazlen who was ranked among the top goalies in the country all season and senior Sam Russell who was ranked among the top midfielders in the country were recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association as honorable-mention All-Americans.

Whittier cruises to 20-3 victory over Claremont behind Russell’s 11 points
Senior Sam Russell scored five goals and dished out six assists as the Whittier College Poets defeated the Cougs of Claremont-M-S and Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday evening, 20-3, inside Memorial Stadium. Whittier now owns a 4-0 all-time record against Claremont.
