RADNOR, Pa. – The Whittier College men's lacrosse team wrapped up their spring break trip with a 16-1 loss to Cabrini College to finish their trip 1-3.

Poets now drop to 5-4 and now return home to begin preparing for a three game home stand against Chapman on April 11 beginning at 7:00pm followed by a game against Claremont-M-S on April 18 beginning at 7pm and then capped off with a game against Dominican on April 21 starting at 1pm.

Whittier has now lost three straight after winning their opening game against Swarthmore 15-7.

For the first time all season Whittier was held scoreless in the first half, while giving up 12 goals.  Cabrini was offensive minded all game and made it very difficult for the Poets to get in any rhythm what so ever.

Whittier's defensive unit continued to allow goal after goal giving up five goals in the first quarter and then seven goals in the second, while the offensive unit was unable to put any quality possessions together.

The Poets were held scoreless all game long until the final 42 seconds where Lucas Paratore connected and found the back of the goal to put the Poets on the scoreboard that broke up the shutout.

Between the pipes Robert Bazlen collected 15 saves for the Poets but a major statistic came in faceoffs where the Poets were 6-19 compared to Cabrini who was 13-19 allowing for them to get more quality possessions .

In man up situations Whittier was 0-4, while Cabrini capitalized twice going 2-8 but a big differential came in shots taken where Cabrini outshot Whittier 51-18 that proved to be the difference down the stretch.
