Poets drop 5-1 decision on opening day of SCIAC Championships

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Whittier College men's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to the Bulldogs of the University of Redlands on opening day of the SCIAC Championships before posting a bye in the afternoon's second round.

Earlier in the season Whittier dropped a 5-4 decision to the Bulldogs and looked to avenge their loss yesterday morning but saw Redlands take an early 3-0 lead after doubles and maintain that intensity into singles play as they won two out of three matches to clinch the 5-1 victory.
