OJAI, Calif. – The Ojai Championships came to a close Sunday afternoon but the Poet duo of freshman Bo Brynteson and Samuel Farmer were unable to make Whittier college men's tennis history as they fell in three sets in the finals of the Ojai Championships Independent doubles draw.
Brynteson and Farmer who made a historic run upsetting both the No. 2 and No. 4 seeds in their quest for the title were unable to get past the No. 1 seed in Josh Barnard and Rodrigo Schaefer from Westmont.
The match that carried over three hours went the distance but in the end the Poet pair were unable to pull out the 10 point super tiebreaker in the third stopping their run short. In the end they were runner-ups falling 6-3, 4-6, 7-10.
