Stags crowned SCIAC Championships for 8th consecutive year

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Stags of Claremont-M-S were crowned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champions Saturday afternoon as they held off the Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran University 6-3 in a showdown between two Top 5 opponents.

This now marks the 8th straight outright SCIAC Championship for CMS and their 75th straight SCIAC victory dating back to 2005.

Pomona-Pitzer after upending the Poets in the first round 5-4 again came out strong in the 3rd Place match-up this afternoon upsetting the three seed in the University of Redlands 5-4.

In other match-ups, Whittier took out Chapman 9-0 in the 5th Place Game and was followed by Occidental taking home 7th place honors with a 7-2 victory over Caltech.

Voting for the All-SCIAC Teams along with Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year Honors will be voted on this upcoming week.
