Poets perform well at CA/NV Championships

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Whittier College men's track & field team competed well at the CA/NV Championships over the past two days held at Claremont-M-S against a field that included Div. I, Div. II, and Div. III opponents.
Head Coach Dave Hogan brought a small squad to compete at the Championships led by sophomore Alex Jungsten who continues to have a solid season in the hurdles as he finished in 10th place finish in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.26.
Distance runner Joshua Ehinger also competed well in the 3000 Steeple Chase finishing with a time of 9:56.52, while Jacob Arango went 35:19.0 in the 10,000m.
For throwers in the event Vaughn Aldape- Soratos finished 13th in the javelin with a 165' 9" mark, while Brandon Wilcox finished up the men's events with a 12th place finish in the hammer with a 163' 9" effort and a 16th place finish in the Shot Put with a 46' .5" mark.
The team will be back at full strength this coming Saturday, April 7 as Whittier competes in the final SCIAC dual meet to be held at CalTech.
