The Western Water Polo Association announced the 2011 WWPA Men’s All-Academic Teams and Whittier College had three players selected out of 116 student-athletes including Eric Bonander, Kyle Catino, and Keary Schlactus.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced this past week their men’s water polo All-Academic Team and senior goalie Christopher Maloney was one of 27 athletes recognized for their success within the classroom.

After suffering a tough loss to Pomona-Pitzer in the first round of the SCIAC Championships, the Whittier College men’s water polo team turned it around and came back this morning to beat the Tigers of Occidental College 15-8 in the second day of the SCIAC Post Season Tournament.
