It was a high scoring first quarter with a combined 43 points being scored with the Poets being led by Daisy Cardenas (Santa Clarita, Calif.) who added all seven of her points for the game within the period. Mia Maglinte (Roseville, Calif.) got hot in the second adding six, while going a perfect 4-4 from the line pulling WC within two.

Kelsi Ikeda (Honolulu, HI) ended the run knocking down one of two free throws with :19 seconds to play.  Julia Daavettila kept Finlandia in striking distance adding a layup soon after but Maglinte would seal the win on the Poets next possession as she converted a pair of free throws from the charity stripe.

Whittier shot 37% from the field and 28% from three-point territory.  Guerena finished with a team high 13 points off the bench and added her first career double double with 10 boards to go with four steals, two assists and a block.
