Kajal Vitha and Taylor Beckwith named 2nd Team All-SCIAC

Women's Golf All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – Sophomore Kajal Vitha (Whittier, Calif.) and freshman Taylor Beckwith (Turlock, Calif.) were recognized this past week on the All-SCIAC teams announced by the conference office.

Both received accolades on the All-SCIAC 2nd Team.

Vitha earns this recognition for the second consecutive year as she led the Purple & Gold to a 5th Place finish in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships.

She finished in 11th place in the overall individual standings within the conference averaging an 80.86 over the seven rounds, with a 6.5 differential and a 9.4 +/- Par. 

Over the year she had a number of strong finishes, which included six Sub-80 Rounds.  Her Top finish was winning the CMS Invite back in September where she shot 75-75.  In the Championships she found her groove as well going 79-79 over the first two days to finish in a tie for 11th

Beckwith, in just her first season was rock solid as she finished right behind her teammate in 12th in the overall SCIAC Standings.  She averaged an 81.14 in conference play across seven rounds with a 6.7 differential and a 9.7 +/- Par.

Her standout moment on the season was at the Cal Lutheran Invitational where she took 1st Place with a 75-79, which led the Poets to a 2nd Place overall finish.  She finished the season ranked No. 18 in the West Region and No. 51 Nationally, while posting nine Sub-80 Rounds averaging a 79.4.
