All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – Sophomores Lexie Meanor (Sewickley, PA) and Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) were recognized this week on the All-SCIAC 2nd Team announced by the conference office.

Hansen earns this recognition for the second straight year as a midfielder.  She finished the year third on the team in scoring with 25 goals with seven assists.  But made her presence felt on the defensive side leading the team in caused turnovers (33), groundballs (56), and draw controls (40).

Within SCIAC, she ranked 1st in caused turnovers, 2nd in groundballs, and 9th in draw controls. 

Meanor finds herself on an All-SCIAC team for the first time in her career after leading the Poets in scoring with 44 goals on 79 shots with an 82% Shot on Goal percentage.  She also finished with seven assists, 31 groundballs, 23 draw controls, and 17 caused turnovers. 

Within SCIAC, she ranked 8th in points, 5th in goals scored, 9th in shots, 6th in free-position goals, and 8th in shots on goal.

SCIAC Newcomer of the Year:  Alessandra Pelliccia, Fr, Occidental 

SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Lauren Uhr, Head Coach

Whittier finished 2017 4-12, 1-9 SCIAC under first year Head Coach Sylvia Queener.  Wins came against Augustana (Ill.), North Central (Ill.), Linfield, and Chapman.
