WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team suffered another double digit loss this past week this time coming against Pomona-Pitzer 21-3.

The Purple & Gold remain winless in conference play dropping to 3-9, 0-6 SCIAC.

Pomona-Pitzer started the game off on a 9-0 run before Sarah Morgan (Tustin, Calif.) was able to break the drought with a nice finish from Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.).  Hansen connected five minutes later from Lexie Meanor (Sewickley, PA) that cut the deficit to eight but that's as close as they would get as PP would close out the half with five unanswered.

The second half remained in the grasp of Pomona-Pitzer as they opened up the frame with four straight before tacking on another two in the final 3:00 minutes that secured the home victory.

Noelle Tamas (Granite Bay, Calif.) connected late in the second stanza for the Poets third goal but that was the last offense generated as Whittier would fall by double digits for the seventh time this season.

Madison Topping (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) played all 32:00 between the posts and picked up nine saves against 30 shots.

Hansen led the offense with a goal and an assist along with two draw controls.  Meanor added an assist with five draw controls and Carly McAllister (San Jose, Calif.) added two groundballs, a draw control and two caused turnovers.

Whittier was outshot on the game 31-10, were at a disadvantage on draw controls (16-8) and were a mere 8-for-17 on clears.

Whittier returns to competition this evening, Wednesday, April 11 when they host the University of Redlands beginning at 7:30pm.
