Whittier one of 89 programs recognized by CSCAA

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) honored the Whittier College women's swimming and diving team as one of 89 programs across the country to earn Division III Team Scholar All-American recognition for the Fall 2009 semester.
The announcement by the CSCAA came Friday morning and acknowledged those programs whose teams maintained a 3.00 GPA or higher.
The Poets had a cumulative team GPA of 3.11 and were one of four Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams that garnered the award.
Pomona-Pitzer ranked second on the list with a 3.53 GPA, Claremont-M-S maintained a 3.43 GPA and Redlands had a 3.40 GPA.
Hamilton took the top spot on the list with a team GPA of 3.59.
