Brooke Geske named SCIAC Newcomer of the Year

Women's Swimming & Diving All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – After an impressive four days at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships for Swimming & Diving, freshman Brooke Geske (San Pedro, Calif.) was named the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year.

Geske was superb in her first SCIAC Championships en route to being named the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year. Geske won the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events with winning times of 56.11, just one-hundredth of a second ahead of the second place finisher, and 2:02.19 respectively. The first-year Poet also helped Whittier's 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley relay teams place third with times of 1:48.14, and 3:57.04.

She now holds the Whittier College School records in the 100 Back, 200 Back, 200 Medley Relay, and the 400 Medley Relay.
