Poets inch closer to NCAA Championships with strong showing in Oxy Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Whittier College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Oxy Invitational Saturday afternoon and came away with strong finishes preparing them for the NCAA Championships.
In all six athletes competed on the day for both the men and women and on the men's side Alex Jungsten placed 10th in the 110H with a time of 15.17, while senior Brandon Wilcox placed 6th in the hammer with a throw of 163' 11" and 7th in the shot put with a 49' 2.25".
On the women's side Eva Aguilar placed 11th in the 3000SC with an 11:49.92, while Adrianna Davideck placed 12th with a time of 11:48.61. Guadalupe Ulloa placed 48th in the 5000m with a time of 18:43.40 and junior Alyssa Sialaris capped off the day with a 3rd place finish in the discus with a throw of 134' 10" and a 4th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 41' 11.25".
Next meet will be a decathlon/heptathlon meet on Thursday & Friday, May 10-11 at CMS and the last meet of the year will take place at Cal State L.A. for the Last Chance Invitational, which will take place Saturday, May 12.
