finished with ten kills and 17 digs, but Whittier College lost 3-0 (30-25, 30-28, 30-27) to Occidental College in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match on October 20.  The Poets are now 3-15 overall, 2-8 in the SCIAC while Occidental improves their record to 5-11 overall and 3-7 in conference play.

Lisset Madgaleno '10 had nine kills for Whittier.  Jennifer Salas '10 and Danell Booher '09 led defensively with 26 and 21 digs, respectively.  Jessica Schlegel '08 finished with 14 digs and Christa Rainville '08 was credited with 15 assists and eight digs.
