Men's Soccer Loses SCIAC Game, Elliot's '10 Late Goal Not Enough Against Pomona

Whittier College remains winless in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition after a 4-1 loss at home to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on October 4.  The Poets are now 2-7 overall and 0-6 in the SCIAC while Pomona remains tied at the top of the SCIAC with a 5-1 conference record (7-2 overall).

Marc Elliot '10 scored Whittier's only goal in the 73rd minute of play.  Joey Gelaro '10 was credited with the assist on the goal.  Cody Sowa '10 made a season-high ten saves in goal. 

The only goal of the first half was scored in the 34th minute by the Sagehens.  Early in the second half, Pomona started to pull away with goals in the 58th and 60th minutes.  They added one more 20 seconds before Elliot scored for the Poets, leaving the score 4-1.
