Whittier College played four games at the Claremont Convergence
Tournament on October 6 and 7. The Poets lost to Bucknell
University (11-3) and George Washington University (11-8) on day
one. They lost to Brown University (12-5) in the morning game
on day two, but bounced back to beat Chapman University (16-3) in
the afternoon.
Mark Canner '07 scored seven goals in the
tournament, including all three Poets' goals against
Bucknell. Chris Kirby '09 scored five goals
on the weekend. He had a hat trick against Chapman.
Jake Zerbe '07 finished with four goals and 13
drawn penalties in the tournament. Chris Villanueva
'09 led the team with seven assists in the four
games. John Jacobson '08 and Matt
Brammer '09 combined to make 50 saves.
