Whittier College Men's Soccer lost 3-0 to visiting California
Lutheran University in SCIAC play on October 18. The Poets
are now 2-12 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
It was an active day for Whittier goalkeepers as Cal Lutheran
peppered the Poet goal with 28 shots. Paul Stepler-Camp '10
made seven saves in the first half, facing 13 shots. The
Kingsmen got on the board in the 19th minute on a goal
from Ryan McDermott. They would tally all their goals in the
first half, scoring two more in the final five minutes of the
opening stanza. Robbie Spangler scored in the 41st
minute and Kai Werring added another in the 44th
minute.
Michael Read '10 took over in the goal for the Poets in the second
half and made ten saves. The Poets took eleven shots in the
contest, six of which were on goal.
The Poets travel to the University of Redlands for a SCIAC match-up
on October 22. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
