WHITTIER, Calif. - Whittier
College baseball coach Mike Rizzo earned his 200th
career coaching win this afternoon as the Poet baseball team beat
Rutgers-Camden for the second time in five days, 10-2, on Tuesday
afternoon at Memorial Field.
Whittier (9-11) busted the game open with a seven-run third
inning. The Poets recorded seven singles and a two-run homerun by
Anthony Cappelletti.
The purple and gold tacked on two more runs in its half of the
fifth inning and finished the game with 17 hits.
Mike Hachadorian earned his first win of the
season for the Poets as he scattered sevens hits over 6.0 innings.
He allowed two unearned runs.
Kevin Pigott pitched the final three innings
for the Poets.
Reed Tuttle led the offense with a 4-for-5 day
at the plate. Ryan Crawford added three hits while
Austin Straus, Andrew Vallejo and
Luke Moedritzer all had two hits.
The Poets return to action on Thursday, March 19, as they host
No. 8 Kean University at 2:30 pm.
