CLAREMONT, Calif. –
The Whittier College volleyball team traveled to Pomona-Pitzer
Colleges on Friday evening and dropped a 3-0 match to the Sagehens.
It was the Poets' second loss in a SCIAC match in as many
outings.
Whittier
(5-19, 1-9 SCIAC) lost in straight games 25-17, 25-22,
25-18.
Alayna Rigo led the Poets
offensively with 35 attempts. She made good on eight kills and
finished with a .057 attacking percentage.
As a team,
the purple and gold finished with a .051 attacking percentage with
24 kills on 99 attempts.
Shannon Orlins added seven
kills on 14 attempts for the Poets.
Katie Lord led the
defensive effort with 11 digs. Alyssa Acosta added
nine digs while Ashley Terich and Rigo had
six.
Terich had
10 asssits and Vanessa Amran had nine for the
Poets.
