REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands is set to host the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Water Polo Championships this weekend Friday, November 21, through Sunday, November 23, at the Thompson Aquatic Center. After completing the round-robin, dual-match portion of the season, all nine SCIAC teams now compete in the tournament and advance through the event based on their results each day.

The Whittier Colleges Poets (20-12) enter the SCIAC tournament as the top seed after registering an undefeated mark in conference action. Junior driver Bryan Jimenez (Commerce, CA) leads the Leopards with 47 goals on the season, while freshman driver Josh Vega (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) follows with 41.

The Occidental College Tigers (6-23, 1-7 SCIAC) and the Caltech Beavers (7-19, 0-8 SCIAC) round out the SCIAC tournament field, as they are positioned at eighth and ninth, respectively.

The Beavers are led by sophomore Chris Bradley (Half Moon Bay, CA), who has netted an impressive 131 goals on the year. Senior goalkeeper Ben Grabowski (Lake Forest Park, WA) has hauled in 317 saves.

Upon completion of this weekend's tournament, each team will receive points based on its finish in the event, with the tournament champion gaining 10 points and the runner-up earning eight points, followed by subsequent points for each place (3rd=7 pts, 4th=6, 5th=5, 6th=4, 7th=3, 8th=2, 9th=1).
