BERKELEY, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's Water Polo team opened up NOR CALS Friday as they took on host No. 3 UC Berkeley but couldn't match-up against the Bears as they fell 22-3.

Goals for the game came from Nick Hyden (Melbourne, Australia) and Massimiliano Mirarchi (Rome, Italy).

After being shutout in the first half 11-0, Whittier finally got on the board at the 5:41 mark in the third quarter and then again three minutes later.  Their final goal came in the fourth with under a minute to play off a man-up opportunity.    

Whittier returns to the pool tomorrow, Saturday, September 24 as they take on Division I No. 11 Princeton University beginning at 12:15pm.
