Game 2 (L, 10-2)
Despite putting up two runs in game two of the doubleheader the Poets still didn't have an answer for the Linfield bats as they would see the game called in the 6th.
After a scoreless first Linfield went ahead in the 2nd with a run coming in on a two out base hit. The very next inning Linfield opened things up with five runs on four hits, while capitalizing on two errors.
Whittier got two of those runs back the very next inning putting together a two out rally. Sammy Corona (San Dimas, Calif.) started things off with a walk and after a wild pitch and a walk to Hannah Angileri (San Jose, Calif.) runners were put on second and third. The very next batter Yolanda Oregel (Anaheim, Calif.) would draw a walk that loaded the bases Melissa Carrasco (San Jose, Calif.) would come up clutch with a two-run single down the right field line.
But these would be the only runs put up by the Purple & Gold as Linfield would go on to add four runs in the 5th the secured the sweep.
Amanda Melodia (Placentia, Calif.) was charged with the loss going 4.0 Innings giving up 10 runs on six hits. But only one of the runs was earned. MaGee finished 1-for-3 and Carrasco was 1-for-1 with two RBI's.
