Box Score WHITTIER, Calif. (Oct 22, 2022) - Despite sophomore forward Lawrence Dydell scoring two goals in less than a minute, the Poets lost at home, 5-2, to the Redlands Bulldogs Saturday night.
The Redmond, Wash. native found the net in the 80th and 81st minutes for Whittier's only scores of the night. Dydell has accounted for all five of his team's goals this week, scoring three times and assisting twice. He leads the Poets in goals this season with four. Dydell's second goal Saturday brought Whittier within two of Redlands, 4-2, with under 10 minutes to play.
Ultimately, the Poets fell, 5-2.
Freshman Rowan Slater assisted on both goals, giving him two goals and two assists this week. Slater's four assists lead the team.
Senior goalkeeper Teddy Nickerson made an outstanding diving save on a penalty kick in the match and had three other saves.
