WHITTIER, CA. (Sep. 30, 2023)- The Whittier Poets were playing host to SCIAC foe Redlands Bulldogs Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. This game did not necessarily go to script for the Poets as they would fall to Redlands 7-0. 

The first half was a close battle for both teams. Redlands was able to get on the scoreboard netting goals in the 19th and 39th minute, but this would be the only scoring for the half. Breckon Robirds started this game great for Whittier stopping 5 first half shots on goal. The Poets though were not able to capitalize on any scoring chances this first half. 

During the second half the Bulldogs flipped the script early. They quickly established a 3-0 lead and did not look back from there. The goals kept coming in the second half and the final score would end up being 7-0. 

Whittier will look to turn the page on this game and bounce back when they take on the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen next Wednesday (Oct 4th). The Poets will travel to Thousand Oaks to take on the Kingsmen at 4:00.
