ORANGE, CA. (OCT. 7, 2023)- After keeping with top ranked Cal Lutheran, Whittier hit the road to take the Chapman Panthers. The Poets unfortunately were not able to get anything going today on the offensive end of the field and dropped this game 3-0. 

As the first began, Whittier came out with their usual fire and passion but Chapman matched their energy. It was the Panthers who would end up striking first in this game with a goal in the 18th minute of the first half. The Poets tried to fight back and had a few opportunities but did not see the ball fly their way. Chapman would then extend their lead in the 33rd minute and took a 2-0 advantage into halftime. 

The second half of the match was a much more physical one. Chapman was able to fire another one past the goalie 10 minutes into the second to make their lead 3-0. Following this goal both sides began to play much harder and 4 total yellow cards were given out in the second half alone. The third Panthers goal would end up being the last one of the match and the final would be 3-0 Chapman. 

The Poets will have a week off before returning to home next Saturday to take on the CalTech Beavers. This SCIAC game will take place at 7:00 on October 14th in Memorial Stadium at Whittier College.
