Whittier College

Daniel Catalan joins the Poet coaching staff and will primarily work with the hitters and outfielders. He is a 2014 graduate of Holy Names University, earning a BA in Sociology. Upon graduation, Daniel headed to Europe where he competed in Spain, France and Poland. He also played a summer for the Rockingham Rams of the Western Australia State League. He is currently a member of the Chilean National Team. In the summer months, Daniel spends his time coaching in Poland with the Polish Senior National Team and the Polish U23 National Team. At Holy Names, Daniel hit .283 with 9 doubles and 7 triples to go along with 32 RBI’s. He resides in Downey where he is a substitute teacher in the Downey Unified School District.
