WHITTIER, Calif. – The 2018 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Football teams were announced Thursday following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.
Phelan finds himself on the All-SCIAC 1st Team as a wide receiver for the first time in his career. This season he put up career numbers in catches, yards, and touchdowns proving to be one of the conference's top wide outs. He hauled in 46 catches averaging 5.1 receptions per game totaling 585 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 65 yards per game and had a 12.7 yards per catch average and a long reception of 73 yards.
Within conference he ranked No. 2 in total receptions, No. 3 in total yards, touchdowns and receptions per game, and No. 4 in yards per game.
Markarian is a four-year letterwinner for the Purple & Gold and finds himself on the All-SCIAC 2nd Team for the first time in his career. This season he was the Poets starting middle linebacker playing all nine games. He totaled 74 tackles (35 Solo / 39 Assisted) and averaged 8.2 tackles per game. He added a sack and 2.5 tackles for losses with two pass break-ups.
Within SCIAC he ranked No. 5 in total tackles and No. 6 in tackles per game.
