WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's Soccer team is set for 2019 as Head Coach Shea Harwell officially announced his schedule Friday.
Following three days of practice to start their season, Harwell puts the Purple & Gold up against Master's in an exhibition contest on August 20. Their season opener will take place on Friday, August 30 at home as they host Bethesda University. At the start of September, Whittier travels to the Pacific Northwest to take on Linfield College (September 7) and then remain on the road the very next weekend to play Vanguard University (September 14).
The lone home game in the month of September will occur on September 18 against Caltech. It will also be their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opener. The three remaining games on the road will take place against Redlands (September 21), Claremont-M-S (September 25), and Occidental (September 28).
Three of the first four games in October will happen inside Memorial Stadium as the Poets will take on Chapman (October 5), La Verne (October 12), and Cal Lutheran (October 16). They will also take on the Panthers (October 19) and Kingsmen (October 26) on the road and will end the month with a home match-up with Claremont-M-S (October 30).
One game will occur in November this year as Whittier will wrap up their regular season with a home game against Occidental (November 2).
Whittier finished 2018 6-10, 5-9 SCIAC. They were in a tie for 6th in the final SCIAC Standings and were just a game out of taking 5th. Parker McDonald led the Purple & Gold being named 2nd Team All-SCIAC as a midfielder.
