WHITTIER, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) released their All-SCIAC teams for men's water polo and Whittier College Head Coach David Kasa highlighted the award recipients being named the SCIAC Coach of the Year.

In just his second season with the Purple & Gold, Kasa becomes the first coach in program history to earn this recognition.  This season he has posted a 19-12, 13-1 SCIAC record, won the SCIAC Regular Season Championship, the fourth in program history and earned a berth into the inaugural Division III National Championships after winning the SCIAC Post Season Tournament Title.

Over two seasons he has compiled a 34-26, 23-5 SCIAC record and finished the regular season winning seven of his last eight.  He then entered the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed and beat No. 4 Redlands and No. 2 Claremont-M-S en route to the programs third tournament title.

His team also finished No. 1 in the final Division III Collegiate Water Polo Association Polls (CWPA) for the fifth time in program history.
