2019 All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) released their All-SCIAC teams for men's water polo and senior Dominick Nevarez (Norwalk, Calif.) was announced as the SCIAC Athlete of the Year as an attacker.

Dominick becomes the third Athlete of the Year in the program's history (Goran Mataic – 2013, 2014). 

The transfer from Cal Baptist University helped the Purple & Gold to the 2019 SCIAC Regular Season Championship Title, a SCIAC Tournament Title and a berth into the Division III National Championships.

In his first season at Whittier, Nevarez netted 38 of his 56 goals against league competition and logged 52 points against the SCIAC (73 total points) in 2019.  He also finished with 14 assists in SCIAC play with a .543 shot percentage, 14 steals, and 5 drawn exclusions.  He was also selected as a SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week.  In the final SCIAC rankings he finished No. 2 in goals (38) and No. 3 in points (52).
