2019 Cross-Country Schedule

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's & Women's Cross-Country teams are set to run in 2019 as Head Coach Greg Phillips released his schedule Monday. 

The Purple & Gold return NCAA Division III National Championship Qualifier Benjamin White who will lead the men into the new season.  On the women's side, senior Melissa Tobias looks to lead a young Poet squad, which includes six sophomores and a junior.    

Whittier opens up at the Biola Invitational on September 7 at Craig Regional Park.  Two weeks later they travel to Santa Clarita, Calif. to take part in the Mustang Challenge (Central Park) and then go out East to Claremont, Calif. to compete in the Pomona Invitational on October 12.

The final tune up before the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships is the Titan Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton on October 25.  The SCIAC Championships will be at Pomona College on November 2 with the NCAA Div. III West Regional (November 16) and NCAA Championships (November 23) occurring right afterwards.

In 2018 the men finished 7th in the SCIAC Standings and the women 8th.  The women had Anahy Covarrubias who qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships, was named All-West Region and 2nd Team All-SCIAC.  On the men's side White was named 1st Team All-SCIAC and was an All-West Region honoree.
