GENEVA, Ohio – Day two action got underway Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships with Anahy Covarrubias (Los Angeles, Calif.) leading the Purple & Gold in the 800m.
She came in ranked No. 18 in the field of 22 and despite facing tough windy conditions at the SPIRE Institute was able to move up in the standings finishing 13th with a time of 2:14.72. She however did not qualify for the final set to take place on Saturday.
Covarrubias posted her qualifying time during the SCIAC Championships, which was a 2:13.31. She finished ranked No. 1 in SCIAC, No. 2 in the West Region and No. 13 in the Division III National standings.
