Women's Lacrosse All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – The 2019 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) awards were announced Tuesday morning following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches. 

A pair of Whittier College Poets were named to the All-SCIAC teams led by Lexie Meanor (Sewickley, PA) who was selected to the 1st Team as an attacker.  Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) joined her but on the 2nd Team as a defender. 

Meanor, who is going down in the Whittier College Record Books as one of the top three players in program history finished off her four-year career in impressive fashion as she was named to the 1st Team for the first time in her career.  The previous two seasons she earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC accolades.   

Within conference she added 23 goals and four assists along with 16 groundballs, 44 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers.  She also finished with a 67.6 shot percentage with an 85.3% clip shot-on-goal.  In conference she ranked No. 3 on draw controls, No. 5 in free position goals, No. 8 in goals, and No. 9 in shooting percentage.

Hansen finds herself on the 2nd Team for the third consecutive season but this time as a defender.  She totaled 10 goals and three assists, shooting 50% along with 26 groundballs, 14 draw controls, and 13 caused turnovers. 

Within conference she ranked No. 8 in caused turnovers, and No. 10 on groundballs.
