WHITTIER, Calif. – The 2019 Whittier College Women's Soccer schedule was officially released Monday by Head Coach Derek Hanks.
The Purple & Gold who boasted one of the toughest defenses within the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in 2018 allowing a 0.69 goals against average, while holding opponents to a mere .045 shooting percentage look to carry that prowess into this season but will be tested early as they take on Soka (August 23) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (August 30).
They open up a five-game home stand at Memorial Stadium on September 1 as they welcome in Division II powerhouse Cal State LA. They then host UC Santa Cruz (September 12) before starting up SCIAC play with Chapman (September 14), Cal Lutheran (September 18), and Redlands (September 21). The lone road game in the month of September will take place against Pomona-Pitzer (September 25) with the final match-up occurring against the University of La Verne (September 28).
Four of the next five games to open up October play will occur on the road, which will come against Chapman (October 2), Claremont-M-S (October 5), Occidental (October 16), and Caltech (October 23). The solo home contest will take place on October 9 against Caltech. The final two games in the month will take place at home against Occidental (October 26) and Pomona-Pitzer (October 30).
The season wraps up on November 2 when the Purple & Gold travel out to the University of Redlands.
