Women’s Soccer plays No. 13 Cal State Dominguez Hills to draw

CARSON, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Soccer team opened up their 2019 slate Friday night on the road against a tough Cal State Dominguez Hills squad who came in ranked No. 13 in the CCAA Pre-Season polls. 

After 90:00 minutes of action though the Purple & Gold had played the Toros to a scoreless draw despite being outshot 21-3.  Whittier was also outshot on goal 6-0 but managed to collect three corner kicks.

Sophomore Vanessa Martinez (La Mirada, Calif.) led the Poets defensively between the posts playing all 90:00 minutes and collecting six stops.  Erin Myers (Hacienda Heights, Calif.), Emma Barrera (Pasadena, Calif.), and Audrey Jeltema (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) all took shots on the game.

Whittier returns to the pitch tomorrow, Sunday, September 1 when they host Cal State L.A.  Game time set for 11:00am.
