2017 Women's Cross-Country All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – The 2017 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Women's Cross Country teams were announced Thursday. First Team All-SCIAC honors were determined by the top 10 finishers at the SCIAC Championships, while the Second Team All-SCIAC members were determined by the next 10 to cross the finish line. The Newcomer, Celia Peterson, and Coaching Staff of the Year accolades were voted on by the league's member head coaches.

Julissa Tobias (Norwalk, Calif.) wrapped up the SCIAC Championships in a big way over the weekend being named the Celia Peterson Award Recipient, while at the same time earning a spot on the All-SCIAC 1st Team by placing 2nd overall with a time of 22:40.32 (6000m).  She has now earned a spot on the All-SCIAC team all four years of her career with three of the four being on 1st Team. 

Her teammate Jessica Iribe (Buena Park, Calif.) joined her with recognition but on the All-SCIAC 2nd Team after an 11th place finish with a time of 24:01.24.  This is the second straight year Iribe has made an All-SCIAC team as she placed on the 1st Team back in 2016.
