Cooper Tirado, a former 10-year track & field athlete, is entering his first year as assistant track and field coach for Whittier College. Tirado was born in Anaheim, CA but grew up in Oahu, HI.
Tirado was a decorated track and field athlete who competed with two collegiate programs: Whittier College and Concordia University Irvine. He led both teams to their best finishes in the role of team captain. Since recently graduating with his masters of coaching and exercise science from Concordia University Irvine he is looking to grow as a track and field coach with the primary focus of speed, power, and explosiveness.
As a young coach he brings a new perspective on updated training regimens and the ability to demonstrate and push the athletes through competition.
Tirado holds a B.S. in Kinisieology with a minor in Mathematics, as well as his masters in coaching and exercise science. During his time as an athlete he was awarded multiple all-academic and all-region certificates for both indoor and outdoor track and field. He also holds school record at Whittier College and CUI.
