Whittier College

Derrick Broekemier is a championship-driven volleyball coach with a track record of elevating programs at the collegiate and club levels. Formerly an Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at the University of Chicago, he previously served as Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Monmouth College, where he led one of the fastest program turnarounds in program history. Guiding the team to its first winning season since 2012 and a 3rd-place conference finish. His leadership earned him the 2025 Midwest Conference Coach of the Year award, only the second time it's been given to an MCVB coach, along with a 30 Under 30 award in 2024.

Beyond the college game, Derrick has built a reputation as a premier club coach and recruiting coordinator with The Edge Volleyball Club since 2018, guiding athletes through the collegiate recruitment process and placing them across NCAA Division I, II, and III programs.

A former practice player and captain at the University of Nebraska Omaha, Derrick holds a Bachelor's in Business (HR and Marketing) from UNO and a Master's in Human Resources Management from Concordia University, Saint Paul. He is known for building disciplined, high-accountability cultures that translate into measurable success on the court and in the classroom.
