REDLANDS, Calif. – The Whittier College women's tennis team dropped its third-straight match, 9-0, as No. 20 University of Redlands earned the win on Alumni Day. The Bulldogs entered the match as the No. 3 team in the West Region.

The Poets' (5-8, 1-4 SCIAC) No. 1 doubles team of Kady Oliker and Lauren Gelgur batted hard against the top ranked doubles in the region but ultimately fell, 8-3.

Whittier went down in straight sets throughout singles but Oliker, Gelgur, Elizabeth Reitzell and Victoria Curtis all won two games during their matches.

Gelgur was one of two Poets to earn a game win in each of the two sets. She lost 6-2, 6-1. Rachel Aelion-Moss lost 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 singles.

Whittier returns to action next Saturday morning as it plays host to La Verne.
