ORANGE, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Water Polo team proved a tough test on the road for Chapman University Wednesday evening as they extended their winning streak to eight games following a 15-10 victory at Allred Pool.

The win moves the Poets to 22-7, 7-0 SCIAC as they spoiled the Panthers Senior Night.  It was a high scoring first quarter with a combined ten goals being scored but the Purple & Gold managed to hold the slight advantage 6-4.  During the first quarter Kendyl Riley (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Jenel Rivera (Whittier, Calif.) each recorded two goals apiece.

The second was a low scoring affair with Whittier holding a 2-1 advantage to increase their lead to 8-5 thanks to Zyania Morales (Commerce, Calif.) and Anastacia Gonzalez (Montebello, Calif.).

The Poets increased their lead to 12-7 after the third quarter adding another four and would put the game out of reach with another three in the fourth with their second and third strings playing.  Rivera finished with four goals for the game and Morales tallied three.

Whittier wraps up their regular season schedule this Saturday, April 16 when they host La Verne at the Lillian Slade Aquatic Center beginning at 11:00am.
