WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Tennis team had a tough outing with Vassar College getting swept 9-0 at the Richard Ettinger Tennis Courts.

It was a battle at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.  Kindall Yeung (Brea, Calif.) and Amanda Rodriguez (Glendora, Calif.) had an opportunity at the top spot but were broken late falling 8-6 to Cornwall/Edwards.  Kallysta Lopez (Whittier, Calif.) and Stacey Bendanillo (Brawley, Calif.) also had a strong presence at No. 3 but they too couldn't overcome a pair of breaks dropping 8-4.

In singles it didn't get any better for the Purple & Gold with all six spots dropping in straights.  Madeline Schmidt-Perez (San Marino, Calif.) and Kiara Embrey (Los Angeles, Calif.) both fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and No. 5.  Yeung and Rodriguez both fell 6-4, 6-1 at the top two spots and Lopez and Julie Cutler (Salt Lake City, UT) would drop 6-1, 6-3, and 6-3, 6-3, each respectively.
