WHITTIER, Calif. – Following a tough loss to Biola University the Whittier College Women's Tennis team entered into Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play Saturday falling 9-0 to Pomona-Pitzer.
The Purple & Gold managed just game across all three doubles matches falling 8-0 at No. 1 and No. 2. The lone game came at No. 3 from the duo of Kallysta Lopez (Whittier, Calif.) and Snigdha Baruah (Guwahati, Assam). In singles the Poets couldn't get any traction collecting just four games total across all six matches with nobody able to get more than a game.
Amanda Rodriguez (Glendora, Calif.) at No. 1 and Emily List (Brea, Calif.) at No. 6 were both swept 6-0, 6-0. Avery Turner (Austin, TX) at No. 2 was able to get a game in the second set along with Jasmine Saunders (Fulham, London) at No. 3. Lopez (No. 4) and Baruah (No. 5) both picked up a game in the first sets of their respective matches.
Whittier remains in conference action this Saturday, February 15 when they travel to take on No. 2 Claremont-M-S beginning at 1:00pm.
