Leach Matches Career Highs in Points, Steals in Loss to CMS

WHITTIER, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2023) - Despite a monster game from sophomore point guard Rhe Nae Leach, the Poets fell to the Athenas on Saturday afternoon, 67-58.

Leach matched her career high in points (30) and steals (seven), also tallying a game-high nine rebounds. She shot 12-for-22 from the floor and made 5-of-7 free throws. The dynamic guard currently ranks second in the SCIAC in both points per game and steals per contest.

Senior forward Lainie James drained three three-pointers and scored 12 points. She also made her presence known defensively, recording three blocks and two steals.

Senior guard Lizzie Scriven contributed eight points on 4-for-9 from the field.

The Poets next take the court 7 p.m. at home against Redlands on Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. See you GAC-side!
