WHITTIER, Calif. (Mar. 25, 2025) – Senior wing
Ignacio Bettinelli (San Jose, Calif. / Ann Sobrato / West Valley Community College) of the Whittier College men's basketball team was named as a CSC Academic All-District recipient for the 2024-25 season.
CSC Academic All-District®, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must display excellence on the playing field in addition to meeting the minimum participation requirements as well as GPA requirements. Only student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and higher are considered for the honor.
Bettinelli became a trusted option on the perimeter for Head Coach Mark Jensen during his senior year. He averaged 6.0 points per game and shot .364 from deep while also averaging 3.6 rebounds per game. Bettinelli was always good for a spark, no matter whether on offense or defense during one of the best seasons in program history: a 10-6 SCIAC record and a first-ever SCIAC Postseason Tournament win. Bettinelli managed this while maintaining an impressive GPA as the best student on the team.
