made eleven saves in goal for the Poets, but they lost 6-0 at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on October 4.  Whittier College (0-8, 0-6 SCIAC) was out shot by Pomona (7-3-1, 5-0-1 SCIAC) 25-3.  The Sagehens also held an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Pomona scored three goals in the first ten minutes of the game.  They didn't score again in the first half.  In the second, the Sagehens came out strong again scoring in the 53rd and 57th minutes.  They added their final goal in the 80th minute for the 6-0 victory.
