The Whittier College women's soccer team lost 11-0 on the road
against Occidental College on September 13. The Poets are now
0-2, 0-1 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics
Conference, while the Tigers improve their record to 2-1, 1-0 in
SCIAC play.
Lowhren Aceves '10 made eleven saves in
goal. Occidental out shot Whittier 18-0 in the first half and
30-3 for the game. The Tigers' 11 goals are the most Whittier
has allowed since October 1996 when they lost to California
Lutheran by the same score.
Occidental began the scoring just 55 seconds into the game and
never looked back. The halftime score was 4-0. To begin
the second half, the Tigers scored three goals in less than eight
minutes. They added four more, making the final 11-0.
