Women's Soccer Loses to Redlands, Poets Shut Out for Sixth Straight

Whittier College lost 9-0 to the University of Redlands in a Southern California intercollegiate Athletic Conference home game on September 27.  The Poets fall to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the SCIAC while Redlands improves their record to 4-3-1 overall and 3-0-1 in SCIAC play.

Lowhren Aceves '10 made three saves in goal for the Poets.  Annette Medrano '07 tried to jump start the offense by taking five shots.  The Poets took only eight shots in the game while Redlands attempted 19 shots.

The Bulldogs started the scoring in the seventh minute and had three goals before the ten minute mark.  Fifteen of Redlands' 19 shots came in the first half as they took a 6-0 lead into the break.  The Poets held a 6-5 shot advantage in the second, but were unable to find the back of the net.  Redlands did find the net in the second, scoring in the 63rd, 65th and 85th minutes to finish with a 9-0 victory.
